Inca Digital has turned its attention to the mid-range market for flatbeds, with a new R40LT version of its Onset flatbed printers.
It has a standard 3.14 x 1.6m bed and takes substrates up to 50mm. As with all the Onsets, it has a full-width print array with Fujifilm Dimatix Spectra printheads, which produce a 14 picolitre drop size.
It’s similar to the existing Onset R40i, complete with a 15-zone vacuum table, a UV sensor system and mechanical substrate height detectors. However, it’s somewhat slower, producing just 265 sqm/hr as compared with the R40i’s speed of 400 sqm/hr.
Inca has designed it around its Onset Scaleable Architecture platform so that it can be upgraded in the field. Thus the basic model can be configured with four, five or six colours and be upgraded to a faster model with up to eight colours as the business grows.
As with the other Onset’s, it’s distributed by Fujifilm.
