    GMG updates ColorServer

    GMG has released v5.4 of its ColorServer colour management software which gains a number of new features to automatically deal with problems that previously would have required manual intervention.

  • Do-it-yourself Web-to-Print

    Despite the growth of textile printing, there are still very few examples of this sector using web to print software mainly because digital printing is still a very small percentage of the overall textile market and has to fit into the established supply chains.

  • GMG improves on OpenColor

    GMG has released a new version of its OpenColor software, which is used for making accurate colour separations and is primarily targeted at the packaging industry. The latest v2.3 mainly seems to offer some improvements to its media library.

  • EFI develops DFE for Memjet

    EFI has entered into an agreement with Memjet to develop its Fiery front ends for use with the growing number of digital printers that have been based around Memjet’s DuraLink printheads.

  • GMG updates ColorProof to v5.11

    GMG has released ColorProof 5.11, which now gains automated notifications of new software updates as well as support for Adobe PDF Print Engine 5.1. 

  • Pantone chooses Living Coral for 2019

    Pantone has named 16-1546 Living Coral as its Color of the Year 2019, which it describes as an animating and life-affirming shade of orange with a golden undertone that encourages lighthearted activity. 

  • New flexo colour libraries added to PantoneLive

    Sun Chemical has worked with Pantone and its subsidiary X-Rite to develop six new libraries for UV flexo inks for PantoneLive.

  • X-Rite acquires ColorCert

    X-Rite has acquired the ColorCert software assets from Nelissen Consulting, the privately held German company that originally developed the software. It’s a logical move since X-Rite had been distributing ColorCert exclusively since 2013.

  • X-Rite certifies AVT SpectraLabII

    AVT, which specializes in developing press control and inspection systems, has signed a licensing agreement with X-Rite to certify that AVT’s SpectraLab II Color Measurement System is compliant with X-Rite’s XRGA Standard.

  • GMG extends OpenColor to third party programs

    GMG has updated its OpenColor multichannel profiling software with the release of v2.06. GMG is starting to open it up to integration with third party programs.

  • Ricoh UK achieves ISO12647 for digital presses

    Ricoh UK Products has become the first digital press manufacturer to be awarded ISO 12647 certification accredited by UKAS, the United Kingdom Accreditation Service.
