Canon has announced a new printer, the PlotWave 500, a monochrome device with a colour scanner.
It is aimed at the mid volume technical document market, which Canon has defined as being 7,000 and 25,000 sqm per year. It has an improved processing unit with the latest generation of print heads and can produce up to 10 A1 pages per minute.
It uses Océ’s Radiant Fusing technology, which allows for a quick warm-up, with an average 30 second turnaround from sleep mode to first print-in-hand.
It has a maximum resolution of 600 x 1200 dpi and can take up to four media rolls, allowing for as much as 730 m2 of uninterrupted printing.
It is fully integrated with the Cloud, allowing printing from and scanning to the Cloud via mobile phone, tablet, USB flash drive or a printer’s network.
