UPM releases new deep freeze adhesive

UPM Raflatac has announced its new 149 DF adhesive to be used in deep freeze environments. It is designed for fast conversion and minimal residue on die tools, resulting in higher efficiency.

When used with clear film labels, the water-based acrylic also provides an improved level of transparency compared to hotmelt solutions and enhances shelf-appeal for frozen foods. The acrylic formulation also provides good UV-ageing resistance to retain adhesive performance and clarity in the long-term.

149 DF is food contact approved. There’s a full range of face materials, both films and papers.

In addition, UM Raflatac has updated its ‘Durables Selection Guide’, which gives information about each product’s technical characteristics and makes it easy to look for suitable label materials for technically demanding applications. The guide is available for download on the UPM Raflatac website at www.upmraflatac.com.

You can license the articles from Printing and Manufacturing Journal to reproduce in other publications. I generally charge around £150 per article but I’m open to discussing this for each title, particularly for publishers that want to use multiple stories. I can provide high res versions of images for print publications.

I’m used to working with overseas publishers and am registered for VAT with the UK’s HMRC tax authority but obviously won’t charge VAT to companies outside the UK. You can find further details and a licensing form from this page, or just contact me directly here.
