Konica Minolta launches C6100 production printers

Konica Minolta has announced a new AccurioPress C6100 series of dry toner colour production printers aimed at mid-volume users.

This AccurioPress C6100 from Konica Minolta runs at 100ppm – there’s a slower, 85ppm, version available.

The series comprises two machines, including the C6100, a 100ppm printer. The second machine is the slower C6085, producing 85ppm. Both presses offer automated colour adjustment and constant control of gradation and front-to-back registration. There’s a dedicated fusing unit for low-cost envelope printing and stabilised paper feeding so that they can handle stocks from 52 gsm to 400 gsm, plus embossed paper. They use Konica Minolta’s existing Simitri HD E toner, which fuses at a relatively low temperature to reduce paper damage and is said to offer offset-like natural textures.

These printers appear to be direct replacements for the Bizhub Press C1100 and C1085 presses. They offer the same speeds and use the same toner, which also suggests a similar imaging system. The main difference appears to be greater automation and the ability to take slightly heavier stocks, up from 350gsm to 400gsm.

Karl-Friedrich Edenhuizen, product manager for Konica Minolta’s Production Printing Group, says: “Collectively all these innovations have been combined into our fastest and most efficient and automated press yet. It has been launched to help operations enhance their bottom-line with a production press that offers maximum uptime and job flexibility for more profit in the print room.”

Meanwhile, Konica Minolta has also gained Fogra certification for its AccurioPress C2070 when running with the optional EFI Fiery, CREO or Konica Minolta controllers.
