Heidelberg has sold off its Docufy software company to the investment firm Elvaston Capital Management, which is based in Berlin.
Rainer Hundsdörfer, CEO of Heidelberg, explained: “We are focusing our software activities on the expansion of cloud-based applications and platforms for the printing industry.”
This deal should net Heidelberg over €20 million and consequently, the company is revising its forecast for its operating result for this financial year and now expects an EBITDA margin in the range of 7―7.5% over the previous estimate of 6―7%.
Hundsdörfer added: “We will use the funds freed up by the sale to drive forward strategic future investments on the path of our digital transformation.”
Docufy, which has around 120 employees, offers information management software as well as consulting and implementation services. It mostly serves manufacturers from the German-speaking DACH region, including several DAX-listed companies.
The Docufy Software Suite enables companies to optimize their processes, from the acquisition of information, to the processing and targeted distribution, to the application of the right information, and thus to contribute to the sustainable success of the company. It’s current strategy relies on expanding this software suite into an Industry 4.0 InfoHub, as well as setting up new strategic partnerships and expanding internationally.
Stefan Donat, CEO of Docufy, commented that Elvaston would help Docufy realise its 2025 strategy adding: “This will allow us to further expand our offering for our existing and future customers.”
