Heidelberg launches Prinect Smart Automation

Heidelberg has been demonstrating its new Prinect Smart Automation function which aims to automate the print production of jobs coming from a web to print system. It draws automatically on a pool of previously defined format templates early in the job creation process and merges these to create a complete job description that contains all the information needed to produce the job from start to finish. There is no need for manual intervention by the operator, though setting up the smart templates will require some expertise.
This automation also extends to producing mixed forms. Heidelberg claims up to a 30 percent increase in productivity, based on the experiences of its beta site.
