Dalim has released the latest version of its Enterprise Solution digital asset management platform, ES 5.5, which has gained a wide range of features.
This system is aimed at marketing and media services companies, where it is used to store, manage, locate, and drive omnichannel projects, from print to Web to video.
Dalim has redesigned the workflow editor, making it easier to drag and drop tasks into place, and to make changes. Administrators can also customise the portal to reflect a company’s brand, or to eliminates certain irrelevant pieces on the page.
There’s a new Plugin Components feature that allows expert users to create and edit their own components, which can then be added to job ticket layouts and smart views to allow users to build their own interfaces for things like automatically filling out a form, or picking a date from a calendar.
The ES platform has also gained Dalim’s artificial intelligence framework, which is based on similarity, embedding libraries based on deep learning to automatically add metadata to documents as they are uploaded. The metadata can then be used in the Search field, building up a machine learning model to return more accurate searches.
The new ES v5.5 also includes an additional app, Dalim Latitude, that acts as a bridge between Dalim’s web-based applications and the user’s operating system by storing documents that have been checked-out from ES in a Latitude directory on the user’s computer. Equally, files can be added to ES through this directory.
There’s an added layer of security with the option to request passwords from a user for things like approving or rejecting a layout, which allows companies to track who’s signing off artwork on particular projects. It can now centralise information which is being processed locally at remote sites or where a task is being worked on from several locations. In addition, ES 5.5 can now be used with Amazon’s S3 storage service.
Dalim has also added new features to its Dialogue soft proofing product, which links into the ES platform. This includes closed loop verification of monitors to ensure the colour accuracy of any monitors used for soft proofing. It can also read barcodes on pages and can define the opacity of inks and in what order they are printed to give a more accurate proof rendition.
