Tilia Griffin joins Enfocus Switch

Tilia Labs has developed a fully self-contained Switch app version of its Griffin Pro, which is automatic layout solution for wide format printers.

The program is based around Tilia’s Phoenix nesting engine which provides the ability to search across millions of combinations in minutes to find the most cost-effective, tightly-nested layouts. In order to fit this into a Switch app, Tilia has set up a ‘Basic’ mode and an ‘Advanced’ mode to give a very easy and quick way to get started while offering the ability to scale up as more capabilities are required.

Sagen de Jonge, CEO of Tilia Labs, says: “Every feature in the app can be driven with variables and script expressions, making it highly dynamic and enabling users to handle a wide range of work with more simplified, adaptive Switch flows.”

De Jonge argues that many printes are unaware of the imposition capabilities that exist, adding: “Many wide format printers, for example, are still relying on the proprietary software that came bundled with their machines. They want to find ways to produce faster and more efficient nesting, tiling, and ganged jobs to maximize substrate usage, but don’t necessarily know where to start. Via the Enfocus Appstore, they can now get instant access to Tilia Griffin’s powerful automatic layout capabilities – and they can try it for free.”

Enfocus Switch is a platform that allows users to create their own automated workflows by linking different apps together from a choice of over 50. The Switch platform has been around for several years now and the apps are fully tested before being released. Most of them are variations on well-known programs, such as Enfocus Pitstop but there are also useful tools for things such as converting Excel files.

Wim Fransen, Managing Director of Enfocus says, the company is seeing an increase in demand from the large format print market, adding: “The Enfocus Appstore is the marketplace for the global Switch user community. Switch is the core of automation in any production environment. It is open, agile and agnostic, which means it is ideal for integrating partner solutions, such as the tilia Griffin Pro app. We are very impressed with what the team at Tilia Labs has created and are extremely proud to be able to offer this unique app to large format print customers.”
