Manroland web profits up

Manroland Web Systems has reported some success for 2015 with an improved profit margin of around 3% and earnings of €6.2 million before interest and taxes (EBIT). The company also grew its market share for new web offset presses to 45%, up from 36% in 2014.

The incoming orders taken by the company group grew by more than 10% to around €260 million in comparison to 2014. Managing Director Jörn Gossé added: “An order backlog in new press business of more than €150 million gives reason to expect good use of factory capacities and a further increase in profitability for manroland web systems in 2016.”

He cited the previous year’s restructuring efforts and improved capacity as a major factor in this success. The company now employs some 1200 people worldwide, including 1068 staff at the main Augsburg site and has pledged to take on those trainees that finish their training this year.

Manroland Web has continued to develop its digital postpress business with orders for the FoldLine and FormerLine Inline-Finishing units coming from South America, Africa, and Middle East in 2015. This is partly helped by the company’s workflow integration expertise. Naturally, Manroland Web plans to build on this at the forthcoming Drupa show.
