Fun and games
So, England has thumbed its nose at Europe yet again, wilfully exiting the Euro2016 tournament this week in much the same style that we flounced out of the EU last week. It’s too early to say which we’ll regret the most; so far both have led to recriminations and the resignations of the chief culprits, though only one has seen a slide in our currency and several millions wiped off the stock exchange.
The next few months will be interesting as the nation pores over the CVs of the likely candidates in the desperate search for a new manager. Somehow I doubt that we’ll be picking a European football meister, regardless of how many trophies they might have racked up. Somewhere along the way we’ll probably get a new prime minister.
It is still possible that we can weather the economic storms, strike a deal with our former EU colleagues and emerge with a much stronger United Kingdom. Let’s hope so as there’s not much else that we can do now. But I’m not optimistic – after all with a population of roughly 64 million we’ve struggled to find 11 men who can kick a ball together and sorting out the EU/ UK mess just sounds like a bigger challenge.

You can license the articles from Printing and Manufacturing Journal to reproduce in other publications. I generally charge around £150 per article but I’m open to discussing this for each title, particularly for publishers that want to use multiple stories. I can provide high res versions of images for print publications.

I’m used to working with overseas publishers and am registered for VAT with the UK’s HMRC tax authority but obviously won’t charge VAT to companies outside the UK. You can find further details and a licensing form from this page, or just contact me directly here.
