Beside the printing presses, Heidelberg has also quietly developed an interesting side line in industrial solutions, including its Wallbox Home Eco charging systems for electric cars. The company has been selling these in Germany for the past two years and has now expanded this to sales across Europe.

Makerbot opens up Method platform

Makerbot, which produces mainly desktop 3D printers and is a subsidiary of Stratasys, has developed a new Labs Experimental extruder that will accept third party materials for its Method 3D printer as the company aims to expand further into the additive manufacturing market place.

Ricoh updates light production printers

Ricoh has announced a new series of dry toner light production printers, the Pro C5300, which is an update to the existing C5200 series though it’s not really clear why Ricoh bothered since most of the specifications remain the same.
