Agfa is planning to announce a new dye sublimation wide format printer, the Avinci DX3200, which will be shown at the ISA show in Las Vegas, USA later this month.
The Avinci DX3200 is a 3.2 m wide printer capable of producing up to 173 sqm/hr with resolution up to 1440 x 540 dpi. It’s a six-colour machine – CMYK plus light cyan and light magenta. It has a 14 picolitre drop size and Agfa says that it uses smart algorithms to ensure low ink consumption.
It can handle a wide variety of polyester-based applications, such as banners, point-of-sale displays, indoor wall graphics, outdoor advertising, trade show displays and flags. Agfa says that it’s compatible with most off-line calendering solutions to fix the colours.
It comes with Agfa’s Asanti workflow, which can also be linked with the optional StoreFront web to print system.
Reinhilde Alaert, product manager at Agfa Graphics, says: “Soft signage applications are widely appreciated in the market. Printed textiles are perceived differently and we love their look. Moreover, textile substrates offer a number of advantages: they are lightweight, resistant to wrinkles and folding, and can easily be reused. Avinci DX3200 offers a perfect fit for this and is a great addition to Agfa Graphics’ portfolio.”
