Xerox expands smart features for its MFPs

Xerox has added new features to its ConnectKey technology, a set of apps designed to enhance the capabilities of Xerox’s multi-function printers, or MFPs. There are currently 14 i-Series MFPs that can take advantage of this concept.

These new apps include the Easy Translation Service app that can then securely and quickly translate business-critical information to more than 35 languages. Users can scan a document through their MFP, take a picture of it with their phone or upload it to a web portal to use the service.

Meanwhile, Xerox App Studio 3.0 allows channel partners to build and tailor MFPs using simple templates that modify and customise the user interface to synchronise to their business processes. For more sophisticated customisation, the Personalised Application Builder (PAB) programme lets users connect with partners to build complex apps to meet their unique workflow requirements.

Other apps allow users to print from their mobile devices, such as the @PrintByXerox app, a free mobile cloud printing solution that lets employees and visitors securely print from any mobile or network connected device to an MFP via a single email address without IT support.

The App gallery is pre-loaded onto the MFPs’ user interface and includes apps from third parties as well as Xerox.

You can license the articles from Printing and Manufacturing Journal to reproduce in other publications. I generally charge around £150 per article but I’m open to discussing this for each title, particularly for publishers that want to use multiple stories. I can provide high res versions of images for print publications.

I’m used to working with overseas publishers and am registered for VAT with the UK’s HMRC tax authority but obviously won’t charge VAT to companies outside the UK. You can find further details and a licensing form from this page, or just contact me directly here.

If you find the stories here useful then please consider making a donation to help fund Printing and Manufacturing Journal, either as a one-off or a repeat payment. Journalism is only really useful if it’s truly independent and this is the only such news source serving the print/ manufacturing sectors.

However, there are costs involved in travelling to cover events, as well as maintaining this site, not to mention the time that it takes to carry out research, check facts and interview people. So if you value this work, then please help to maintain it and keep it free to read.
