Mimaki has launched a small cutting table, the CFL-605RT, which is mainly aimed at packaging. It takes media up to oversized A2 and features a variety of functions including creasing and eccentric, tangential and reciprocating cutting.
Mike Horsten, Mimaki’s European marketing manager, says there’s a need for short run packaging and prototyping, adding: “In particular, we believe markets such as cosmetics and luxury items will benefit from the ability to produce highly responsive eye-catching packaging with short lead times.”
The new cutter can be paired with Mimaki’s table top UV printer, the UJF-6042 to create a complete production line for small format printing. The major advantage is that it allows packaging firms to carry out their own prototyping without having to outsource which costs both time and money.
