Huber develops sheetfed ink for food packaging

German ink manufacturer Hubergroup will replace its Natura GA offset inks with a new series, MGA Natura from the start of February.

Hubergroup has developed a new range of MGA Natura offset inks that are suitable for food packaging.

The new ink is said to have improved in-press performance and to comply with all the requirements of the major food manufacturers. It is suitable for food packaging and has good organoleptic properties, especially when fast post-print processing is required.

The MGA Natura ink only contains substances that either do not migrate or that have been assessed for food contact. Furthermore, Hubergroup says that the ink is produced in compliance with good manufacturing practice standards, taking into account all relevant requirements for food packaging printing and that this standard will in future apply to all ink systems for printing food packaging.

MGA Natura will be available as process inks, as spot inks in line with the classic colour guides and also as bespoke corporate design colours.
