Google Glass on sale
Google has started selling its Glass headset – spectacles with a built-in camera – to the general public (up to now it’s been limited to a small number of beta testers). It costs $1500 and Google says that it will sell off the existing stock, in what it terms an open beta.
Google hasn’t said whether it will develop the project further, though it seems inconceivable that it wouldn’t. But perhaps the more important question is whether or not we’re ready for a world where we are constantly being filmed. Then again, are we not already there given the sheer number of surveillance cameras around?
