The Keyline MIS, which has been written by the German developer Crispy Mountain, is now available in the UK through Cloud to Print ltd.
Keyline is an online system supplied on a Software as a Service or SaaS model. It’s been developed specifically for printing, in collaboration with several large German printers. It covers all the usual areas that one would expect of an MIS, including sales, quotation, production planning and control, warehouse management, packaging and logistics, accounting and analytics.
Matthias Prinz, founder and joint managing director of Crispy Mountain, explained: “With Keyline, we provide a solution for the printing industry that is based on the latest standards of software development. Fuelled by sophisticated ideas and modern interfaces that touch all aspects of a print business, it goes far beyond the standard of conventional MI systems, which focus mostly on the quotation part. Keyline is flexible, scalable and customisable, enabling printing companies to future proof their business.”
Cloud to Print is based in London and specializes in finding cloud-based solutions for printing companies. Paul Warren, managing director of Cloud to Print, commented: “Keyline is more than a standard MIS. Via open interfaces, it is able to communicate with other software solutions of any kind, as well as with machinery for printing, finishing and logistics. It creates a holistic data stream, enabling full control anytime anywhere, and building the basis for far-reaching automation. We collaborate with the leading web-to-print, pre-press, and related solutions on the market today to deliver an end-to-end workflow solution that’s only limited by our clients ambitions.”
It’s worth noting that Crispy Mountain was also involved earlier this year in setting up an international initiative aimed at book publishing called “Integrating the Publishing Environment”. The idea is to develop an open and standardized production environment for publishers, logistics companies and printers. The IPE initiative itself was the brainchild of Alexander Markowetz, a book author and digitization expert, and Michaela Philipzen, production manager of the German publishing house Ullstein.
