Color-Logic adds metallic effects to flexible films

Color-Logic has expanded its metallic special effects into flexible packaging films. The system has been used with offset and flexographic label printing but can now be used with metallised films such as OPP.

Director of Sales and Marketing Mark Geeves explained: “Designs for printing on metalized films, for example, require complex white ink masks which can be generated with just a click of the mouse with Color-Logic software.”

There’s an InDesign plug-in that lets designers add the effects as part of the overall design without needing to use a separate program. The software also allows metallic silver inks to be combined with CMYK inks to produce dramatic effects on conventional films and other substrates. It can now be used with offset, inkjet, flexography, digital presses, screen printing, and gravure. It is suitable for packaging, direct mail, point-of-purchase material and booklets.
