Bobst partners with Kodak

Kodak and Bobst have formed a strategic development agreement to integrate Kodak’s Prosper technology into Bobst’s range of packaging production equipment in response to increasing demand for new solutions addressing flexible, folding carton and corrugated applications. Bobst had hinted that it was looking to develop a digital packaging press back at last year’s drupa. Such a press would require a far wider print array than is currently available but Kodak has already said that it has developed a 124.5cm wide array and is working on an even wider 152cm version.
Jean- Pascal Bobst, Chief Executive Officer of Bobst Group, commented: “Flexibility, time to market and improved total cost of ownership are increasingly important to our customers. To extend the capabilities of packaging production equipment, we decided to join forces with Kodak in particular because of their strength in the digital arena.”
